Job Description
Title:
Electrician-Instrumentation & Controls Relocation:
Possible assistance Under the direction of the Electrical Supervisor, the Instrument & Controls Electrician performs routine maintenance, calibration, installation and integration of various types of process control instrumentation equipment such as flow, level and analytical transmitters, PLC controllers, integrators, and motor drive elements.Responsibilities:
Performs field fault analysis to determine if instrument has failed or if it is a process problem Reviews field and lab calibration of instrumentation utilizing proper test equipment Responsible for component replacements, alignments and calibration to specifications of record Makes repairs to electrical power, motor and motor control circuits. Repairs the signal transmission facility, such as fiber optic, ethernet, telemetry, wiring, etc. Oversees Instrumentation, which includes pneumatic, electronic and digital equipment Performs fault analysis of motor control circuits, motor power circuits (120V to 480V 3phase) and common utility/lighting circuits Performs installation of new control circuits, modification of existing instrument/electrical systems as requested, including design, load and Implementation of new control logic Performs fault analysis of PLC based systems (Allen Bradley) with control logic modification, if required Provides analysis of 5kv and 480v power service Ability to interpret schematic drawings (to component level) of pneumatic loops, hardware relay logic diagrams, PLC control programs, motor control circuit diagrams, etc.Qualifications:
Valid driver's license required High school diploma or equivalent Certification from accredited Technical School, military electrical/electronic training Minimum of three to five years' experience as an industrial maintenance electrician with motor controls required, or equivalent combination of education and experience preferred Must associate circuit symbols with actual components to include solid state electronics (transistors, integrated chips, resistors, capacitors, etc.) and common industrial electrical hardware (relays, contactors, starters, etc.) Experience in installing electrical conduit of the various trade size (i.e. pvc, emt, rigid) and install instrumentation tubing Must possess good mathematical skills to include basic algebra for calculation of electrical/electronic equations as applicable in water/wastewater treatment and basic trigonometry for calculation of vectors as in VFD systemsAdditional Requirements:
Must have a valid Drivers' License Good communication skills, verbal and written Must have the ability to work in a team environment Will be scheduled on-call work on a rotating basis, including days, night and weekendsPhysical Demands:
