Send job Job Details Job Description Overview The primary duties of this position entail: \nQualify as a Trade Training Instructor.\nQualify and maintain all applicable non-nuclear OSE qualifications.\nOnboarding New Hire Electricians.\nInstructing multiple Electrical Trade courses in a classroom setting Electrostatic discharge, F-18 Non-Shipboard Electrical etc. \n\nInstructing multiple General Trades classroom courses Fall Protection, Fire Watch, Respirator, Tank Watch etc. \n\nEnforcing safety rules and regulations.\nSupporting various lesson plan updates and related activities.\nAssessing student performance and identifying noncompliance to policies, procedures and technique sheets.\nSupporting special training projects as required.\nBeing available for overtime as needed.\nBeing flexible to support training on all shifts as needed.\nConduct deck plate observations.\nRecommend changes to improve areas of safety, quality, cost, schedule, and continuous improvement.\n
Qualifications Required:
\nHigh school diploma/GED\nMust have background with OSE, NTO-E or STO-E test electrician. Previous work experience may be accepted in lieu of an electric boat electrician qualification\n\nPreferred:
\nPrevious Shipyard experience\nPrior classroom/OTJ or ALC Instructor experience \nCertificate, Associates or advanced degree\nExperience in preparation of training materials\nExperience with classroom lectures, hands-on training and associated written and practical exams\n Skills \nExcellent verbal and written communication skills, be able to speak in front of large groups of people.\nMust be proficient with Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.\nAbility to embrace change and new ideas.\nStrong organization skills.\nMaintain a strong work ethic.\nBe a dedicated team player.\nMust have a strong history of procedural compliance and safe work practices.\nMust be comfortable speaking in front of a large groups and be able to maintain control of a classroom.\nMust be comfortable assigning students training tasks and enforcing policies and procedures.\nMust be comfortable evaluating student progress.\n Physical Qualifications Climbing, Color Vision, Crawling, Heavy Lifting, Kneeling, Light Lifting, Medium Lifting, Pulling, Pushing, Reaching, Stooping, Twisting Environmental Attributes Cold, Dusty, Fumes, Hot, Inside, Noise, Outside Share this job Facebook Twitter LinkedIn Apply on website Send job Apply on website Save job Click to add the job to your shortlist You need to sign in or create an account to save a job.
