Job Description

Do you keep complex machines running when it matters most? If solving tough mechanical and electrical problems under time pressure sounds like your kind of challenge, read on. This role is all about safeguarding uptime, executing both planned and reactive maintenance, and championing safety and quality across a high-output corrugated operation. Your responsibilities—asked as questions Can you perform hands-on diagnostics and repair on corrugator, converting, and facility systems (mechanical/electrical)? Will you execute PMs, PdMs, routine fixes, and projects—and close the loop within your shift? Do you respond swiftly to breakdowns and verify that every repair truly solves the problem before release to production? Are you committed to LOTO, Arc Flash, PPE, Hot Work, and confined space protocols—every single time? Will you avoid passing along incomplete work without clear notes and direct communication to the Maintenance Supervisor? Can you contribute to root-cause analysis to eliminate repeat failures? Preventive & predictive focus Conduct scheduled PM/PdM with precision: inspect, measure, and document accurately. Spot potential failures early and suggest improvements to PM scope/frequency. Perform basic condition monitoring (visual, vibration, temperature, etc., as trained). CMMS and documentation (LLumin) Record problem descriptions, work performed, parts consumed, and measurements in LLumin CMMS. Close work orders promptly and create follow-up notifications/work requests when needed. Parts logistics Identify the right parts, coordinate with MRO/Parts staff, and return unused items to inventory. Help correct inaccurate or missing parts information. Team connection & shift continuity Communicate clearly with Maintenance Supervisors, fellow techs, and production teams. Deliver thorough shift handoffs; support other departments and assist with onboarding/training of new hires. Continuous improvement Find ways to reduce downtime, improve reliability, and remove chronic issues. Participate in RCA and propose equipment/procedure upgrades. Housekeeping & 5S Keep your area clean and organized; store tools properly and dispose of scrap responsibly. Also part of the job Join daily safety huddles and maintenance meetings. Pitch in on weekends, off-shifts, emergencies, projects, and capital improvements as required. Other duties as assigned. What you bring High school diploma or GED (required). Technical training or apprenticeship (preferred). Corrugated manufacturing or similar industrial experience (preferred). Ability to demonstrate all Class B qualifications. Own the tools necessary to perform maintenance tasks. Prior corrugated experience preferred; similar-sized manufacturing experience considered. Technical capabilities Strong mechanical aptitude (bearings, chains, belts, gearboxes). Basic electrical troubleshooting (motors, sensors, switches; drives preferred). Read mechanical drawings, electrical schematics, and OEM manuals. Industrial equipment repair background. How you think and work Structured, stepwise troubleshooting with an eye for root cause. Comfort escalating issues and asking questions when needed. Proficient with hand/power tools and precision measuring devices. Competent with computers (CMMS, email); quick to learn LLumin CMMS. Clear communicator, team-oriented, receptive to feedback. Accountable, dependable, punctual; willing to work overtime, weekends, and off-shifts. Math, reasoning, and technical knowledge Read a tape measure quickly and accurately; calculate percentages, measurements, volume, and rate; use high-school math. Solve practical problems and interpret written, oral, diagram, and schedule-based instructions in a fast-paced setting.
