POSITION OVERVIEW
We are seeking an Electromagnetic Environmental Effects (E3) Engineer to support the Systems Engineering (SE) Special Disciplines Organization within National Security Space (NSS). This role focuses on planning and executing EMI testing, supporting electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) analyses, and translating customer needs into system?level E3 requirements and solutions. The ideal candidate will be conversant with MIL?STD?461/464, experienced in EMC theory and test methods, and able to support verification and sell?off of E3 requirements at both package and system levels in a highly advanced space and defense environment.
RESPONSIBILITIES AND ESSENTIAL DUTIES
Plan and perform primary aspects of EMI testing, including test planning, procedure development, equipment readiness, setup, execution, and reporting to stakeholders and customers Apply and grow electromagnetic engineering skills to convert customer needs into total systems E3 requirements and solutions Perform and support functional analysis, timeline analysis, trade studies, requirements allocation, and interface definition to translate customer requirements into hardware and software specifications Support requirements sell?off by compiling, organizing, performing, evaluating, and documenting compliance verification for E3 performance at both box and system levels Generate and maintain E3/EMC documentation including control plans, test procedures, lab reports, and related artifacts, as required Collaborate with cross?functional engineering teams and program stakeholders to identify and resolve E3 issues throughout the program lifecycle Support and learn from senior E3 experts while contributing to multiple space and national security programs Utilize tools such as MATLAB, Excel, CST/EMA3D, PSPICE or equivalent for E3 analysis and data processing Communicate technical findings clearly to both technical and non?technical stakeholders through written reports and presentations
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
Basic Qualifications Expertise and strong working knowledge of MIL?STD?461/464 requirements and applicable test methods Expertise in Electromagnetic Compatibility (EMC) theory Ability and willingness to obtain and maintain a TS/SCI clearance U.S. Citizenship required for security clearance eligibility Ability to work onsite full?time in Littleton, CO Additional Qualifications (Desired Skills) Experience with satellite and/or missile system and/or box?level E3/EMC test and analysis (or equivalent) Experience using MATLAB, Excel, CST/EMA3D (or equivalent 3D EM modeling tool), and PSPICE or equivalent circuit simulation tools Experience generating EMC/E3 control plans, test procedures, and laboratory reports (or equivalent documentation) Background in Electromagnetic Compatibility (EMC) analysis and problem?solving Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications Demonstrated understanding of systems thinking, including consideration of interfaces, mission timelines, and system?level interactions Excellent written and verbal communication skills; proactive, self?starter, and demonstrated teamwork and leadership Enthusiastic learner, independent thinker, and effective team player Active or current TS/SCI clearance strongly preferred
