Job Description

A day in the life You arrive on the floor and immediately begin assessing equipment health—listening, observing, and tracing symptoms to their source. When an issue appears, you take it from end to end: isolate root cause, safely lock-out, dismantle to access failed components, inspect for wear or defects, adjust or calibrate controls, replace parts, reassemble, and verify performance through functional tests of both electrical circuitry and mechanical systems. Between reactive calls, you execute preventive maintenance to keep assets running at peak performance and recondition machine tools when needed. What you'll do Own mid- to expert-level break/fix and scheduled maintenance across industrial equipment. Identify and source parts, supplies, and repair items to expedite repairs. Work autonomously, following industry standards and site procedures. Set up and operate machining equipment (lathe, drill press, grinder, and other metalworking tools) to make or repair parts; perform welding as required. Champion 5S and rigorous housekeeping across your work area. Drive continuous improvement (CI) initiatives focused on process, results, and cost savings. Keep accurate records, update work orders, and review CMMS history to inform decisions. Troubleshoot and analyze control systems to resolve hardware, software, and configuration issues. Use predictive maintenance technologies to capture and interpret equipment performance data. Mentor junior technicians and occasionally lead small teams; take on advanced tasks to accelerate your development. Advance your craft through on-the-job learning and self-directed technical study. Follow all safety policies, rules, regulations, and technical instructions; maintain strong situational awareness to identify and correct unsafe behaviors and conditions. Qualifications High school diploma or GED. Associate degree with a technical focus and 3 years of related general industry experience; or 5 years of related general industry experience; or successful completion of the ATS Technician Progression Program. Solid grasp of electrical, mechanical, fluid power, and control systems with the ability to diagnose and repair. Proficiency with basic hand tools and appropriate specialized tools. Ability to travel as needed. Physical demands and work environment This role is hands-on. You will regularly stand, walk, use hands/fingers, reach with hands and arms, climb (ascend/descend) or balance at heights that may require a ladder or lift, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl in confined spaces, and communicate clearly. Sitting occurs occasionally. You may occasionally lift or move more than 50 pounds. Close and color vision are regularly required. You may occasionally encounter outdoor weather and risk of electrical shock. Work is typically performed in a factory environment that is usually very loud, with possible exposure to hazardous materials and/or greasy or slippery floors. Compensation and benefits ATS is committed to fair and equitable pay. Actual pay may vary within, above, or below the range based on factors such as education, training, experience, professional achievements, business need, and location. We offer market-leading benefits, including Medical, Dental, and Vision coverage; paid time off (PTO); a 401(k) with employer match; tuition reimbursement; and more.
