Pay Rate:
$26/hour Flexible start time. The Role The Service Technician I provides equipment service activities under close supervision from management or senior technicians. Responsibilities include inspection of equipment for completeness, mechanical and electrical safety (when applicable), and proper operation. The role also involves performing planned maintenance, calibrations, and repairs on lower-complexity systems. The technician may assist senior team members with troubleshooting and major repairs of higher-complexity equipment while demonstrating strong adherence to core organizational values. Primary ResponsibilitiesTechnical Service (60%) Perform operational performance inspections, scheduled maintenance, electrical safety inspections, and validation procedures when applicable Repair equipment to the subassembly or circuit board (PCB) level and perform calibrations Communicate repair status, inspection schedules, unusual equipment findings, and customer concerns to management Maintain technical expertise for assigned equipment within a specific product family through ongoing training Regulatory Compliance (30%) Ensure accuracy and integrity of equipment and service databases, including inventory records, service history, and required quality documentation Adhere to all quality management system (QMS) processes, regulatory standards, and internal procedures Confirm that all service work and documentation are completed accurately and on time Service Parts Inventory (10%) Follow service procedures related to service parts usage and transactions Maintain accurate service parts records in the equipment database Assist with periodic service parts inventory reconciliation as needed Education and Qualifications Associate degree in electronics, engineering technology, or a related technical field, or equivalent experience. Equivalent military (avionics) or industry experience (4+ years) may substitute for formal education Minimum 6 months of hands-on experience servicing industry-related equipment preferred Working knowledge of analog and digital circuits, microprocessors, and A/D and D/A converters Familiarity with lasers and optical systems is a plus
