Aug 24, 2026 Job Description Position Overview - The Academy of Notre Dame in Tyngsboro, MA seeks a dynamic, student-centered Elementary Intervention Lead Teacher to support literacy and mathematics instruction across Grades K-5. This educator will play a critical leadership role in designing, implementing, and refining targeted interventions to meet the diverse academic needs of students. The Intervention Lead Teacher will work collaboratively with Title I Literacy and Math Interventionists, paraprofessionals, classroom teachers, the school counselor, and administration to ensure a cohesive, data-informed, and responsive Multi-Tiered System of Supports (MTSS). This role requires a strong background in special education, experience supporting high-need learners, and the ability to guide faculty in effective Tier 2 instructional practices. Key Responsibilities -
Instructional Duties:
Provide targeted, small-group and individualized instruction in literacy and mathematics for students requiring Tier 2 support Use research-based intervention programs and strategies to address specific skill gaps Progress monitor student growth regularly and adjust instruction based on data Differentiate instruction to meet a wide range of academic and developmental needs Support students with diverse learning profiles, including those with diagnosed or suspected learning differences Create a supportive, structured learning environment that fosters student confidence and independence
Planning & Assessment Responsibilities:
Analyze screening, diagnostic, and formative assessment data to identify students in need of intervention Develop, implement, and monitor individualized student support plans Maintain clear documentation of student progress, interventions, and outcomes Collaborate in the development and review of Student Support Plans, Accommodation Plans, and other intervention documentation Assist in coordinating school-wide assessment schedules and data cycles Leadership & Tier 2
Support:
Serve as a resource and instructional leader for Tier 2 intervention practices across Grades K-5 Support classroom teachers in identifying students needing additional support and in implementing targeted strategies within the classroom Model effective intervention techniques and co-teach when appropriate Provide guidance on differentiation, scaffolding, and progress monitoring Lead or support professional development related to intervention strategies, data analysis, and inclusive instructional practices Assist in refining and strengthening the school's MTSS framework
Collaboration:
Work closely with Title I Literacy and Math Interventionists to ensure alignment and consistency in services Partner with classroom teachers to create cohesive instructional plans and monitor student progress Collaborate with the school counselor to support students' social-emotional and academic needs Engage with administration in reviewing school-wide data and planning targeted supports Participate actively in team meetings, student support meetings, and professional learning communities Mission Alignment - The Academy of Notre Dame is a faith-based school community committed to academic excellence, character development, and service.
