Elementary School Counselor Qualifications :

Valid Indiana School Counselor license/certification appropriate for the elementary level Strong understanding of child development and the social-emotional needs of elementary students Ability to build positive relationships with students, families, and staff Experience providing individual counseling, small group counseling, and classroom guidance lessons Knowledge of strategies for supporting student wellness and success Strong communication, collaboration, and organizational skills Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive situations with professionalism Commitment to creating a safe, inclusive, and supportive learning environment for all students Highly motivated with the ability to relate well with children Willing to be flexible with daily schedule
