Overview Foxborough Regional Charter School District (FRCS) is a unique and diverse school serving students from across Southeastern Massachusetts. Approximately 1500 students and families come from urban and suburban communities and represent various backgrounds, ethnicities, and experiences. Families in our three vibrant school communities (Elementary, Middle, & High School) speak over 20 languages and live in over 20 sending districts. The Elementary School at FRCS serves approximately 700 students in grades K-4. The School Guidance Counselor will assist students in academic achievement, personal and social development, and college & career exploration so that each student can identify individual goals, strengths, weaknesses, and interests and grow into a well-adjusted and productive adult. Candidates should be able to demonstrate mastery of the domain of curriculum and standards, and the desire and ability to meet the standards of a high-performing team.Responsibilities:
The successful candidate for this position will: Assess students' needs, strengths, and weaknesses through a variety of means, including one-on-one assessments, conversations or interviews, standardized or aptitude testing, small-group activities, and observations throughout the school day. Develop a range of age-appropriate programming and interventions to meet the social, emotional, behavioral, and academic needs of students in grades K-4. Collaborate with students and families to identify academic and personal goals and support the larger domain of early career planning. Collaborate with school leaders and other school staff to support and develop the school's positive behavioral intervention system (PBIS) and other multi-tiered systems of academic and behavioral support (MTSS). Assist students with academic planning, organization skills, and goal setting. Teach various skills in large and small groups, including social, study, and test-taking skills. Counsel or refer students to counseling resources for personal, social, and behavioral issues. Collaborate with teachers to identify ways to improve students' achievement and social development. Promptly notify appropriate authorities of any reports or suspicions of crimes, abuse, or neglect. Collaborate with other educators, families, and students to develop, review, renew, and/or modify Individualized Education Plans or 504 plans for qualifying students. Perform other related duties as assigned.General Expectations:

Master's Degree in counseling, education, or related field. MA DESE School Guidance Counselor License at the appropriate level. Safety Care certified or the ability to be certified in Safety Care Experience working with students with disabilities, preferred (or willing to receive training) Ability to take the initiative and work independently Ability to de-escalate behaviors; Calm, neutral demeanor Reliable and well-organized with sound judgment Effective oral and written communication Deep commitment to DEI and anti-bias, anti-racist approaches to education and service. Excellent organizational skills All employees are subject to background checks, including CORI and Fingerprints. Current authorization to work in the United States - Candidates must have such authorization by their first day of employment.Qualifications- Preferred:
Experience working in an urban school district Must be able to assist with student behavioral needs as necessary Ability to sit or stand for extended periods of time Sufficient mobility to navigate within a large school building Proficiency in multiple languages, reflecting our diverse student populationWork Environment & Physical Requirements:
The majority of work is performed in a school or classroom environment, which usually has a moderate noise level. Regular attendance is necessary; absences should be rare and in alignment with district attendance and punctuality standards.Physical Requirements:
While performing the duties of this job, the teacher is frequently required to kneel, stoop, bend, and crouch. The teacher is periodically required to stand while talking and listening. The teacher is occasionally required to sit, walk, lift, or carry.Position Type:
