Captain Isaac Paine School in the Foster School Department is seeking Elementary School Principal to promotes the educational development, academic success, and well-being of each student through effective leadership, supervision, and management. Responsibilities and Duties Shared Vision 1.Ensures compliance with federal, state, and school committee policies and regulations. 2.Applies research and best practices to improve educational programs. 3.Promotes high expectations for all students and staff. 4.Is highly visible throughout the school. 5.Plans, facilitates, implements and communicates the School Improvement Plan aligned with the district's strategic plan. ________________________________________ Culture of Learning 6.Promotes the establishment of a productive environment for all staff and students in order to promote self-actualization, achievement, teamwork, affiliation, and a humanistic, encouraging interactive climate for learning. 7.Oversees processes related to referrals, assessments, special education identification, and IEP meetings; serves as a resource to MTSS meetings. 8.Directs activities of the school's professional staff in the performance of their duties to ensure a high-quality elementary program. 9.Leads curriculum development and organization of curriculum. 10.Coordinates, monitors, and evaluates instructional programs, curriculum work and assessments. 11.Recognizes and celebrates achievements within the school community. ________________________________________ Professional Development 12.Stays current with educational trends through professional learning, research, and collaboration. 13.Plans and implements professional development for all staff. ________________________________________ Management 14.Works with the appropriate committees to recruit, screen, recommend for hire, orient, train, and assign the school's certified and non-certified staff. 15.Appraises, evaluates and counsels the school's certified and non - certified staff to translate the school's educational philosophy, goals, and objectives into action terms that directly benefit the student. 16.Participates in the scheduling and evaluation of itinerant staff assigned to the school to support the total program. 17.Develops and supervises school safety and emergency procedures. 18.Prepares and submits the school budgetary requests and monitors expenditures of funds in order to maintain control, and account for local funds and students . 19.Prepares reports to keep district leadership informed of school operations. 20.Oversees maintenance and operations of the school facility, including safety, custodial services, and food services. 21.Supervises the development of the master schedule. 22.Ensures smooth daily school operations. 23.Maintains student discipline systems aligned with district policy. ________________________________________ Family and Community 24.Promotes strong communication and partnerships with families and the community. 25.Coordinates communication efforts to support engagement and school improvement. 26.Manages public relations for the school. ________________________________________ Ethics 27.Protects confidentiality and rights of students and staff. 28.Demonstrates ethical and professional behavior at all times. ________________________________________ Societal Context 29.Encourages a positive work environment that supports staff growth, innovation, and professional satisfaction. 30.Performs additional duties as assigned by the Assistant Superintendent or Superintendent, consistent with contractual obligations. ________________________________________ Evaluation Performance will be evaluated annually in accordance with Rhode Island Building Administrator Evaluation & Support Standards and School Committee policy. ________________________________________
