Start Date:
July 2026) About the Role Kamaile Academy PCS is seeking a dedicated and experienced Elementary School Teacher to provide high-quality instruction that promotes student learning and achievement. This role emphasizes student engagement, differentiated instruction, and collaboration with colleagues and support staff while supporting students' guidance, discipline, welfare, and safety. Major Duties Deliver effective instruction aligned with professional standards for elementary students, including clear learning objectives, assessments, and re-teaching strategies when needed. Develop and implement student success plans using assessments, data, and observations to monitor individual learning progress. Build positive relationships with students through empathy, active listening, and objective judgment. Collaborate with teachers, support staff, and service providers to address and support student needs. Maintain accurate grading and evaluation records, and communicate student progress regularly with students and families. Participate actively in faculty, grade-level, and department meetings; contribute to school initiatives, program planning, budgeting, implementation, and evaluation. Follow all school policies, procedures, standard practices, and approved curriculum, while promoting the school's mission and vision. Monitor student behavior, well-being, and safety; report concerns regarding bullying, harassment, mental health, or academic risk promptly. Support accommodations and modifications in accordance with IEPs and Section 504 plans . Develop an annual professional growth plan and review progress with an administrator to support ongoing professional development. Minimum Qualifications Valid teaching certification issued by an accredited institution. Completion of a state-approved teacher preparation program. Meets Highly Qualified (HQ) requirements, including passing Praxis assessments for Elementary Education. Demonstrated success in student teaching, internships, or prior teaching experience. Strong content knowledge appropriate for elementary grade levels. Effective verbal and written communication skills with students, families, and staff. Commitment to collaboration and participation in a professional learning community. Ability to maintain positive and appropriate student behavior and a safe learning environment. Skilled in instructional, assessment, and evaluation strategies. Knowledge of child development and ability to integrate it into lesson planning. Ability to differentiate instruction to meet diverse learning needs. Experience applying culturally responsive teaching practices. Proficient in using technology to enhance instruction, assessment, and engagement. Committed to professional learning, reflective practice, and continuous improvement. Reliable and consistent in attendance, punctuality, and task completion. Desired Qualifications Experience teaching diverse student populations. Knowledge of Hawaiian culture and integrating it into instruction. Skilled in collaborative lesson planning and classroom management. Compensation Placement is based on education and experience.
