Job Description

Job Overview We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Elementary Special Education Teacher to join our vibrant educational community. In this role, you will create an inclusive and nurturing classroom environment tailored to meet the diverse needs of students with disabilities. Your expertise will help foster academic growth, social-emotional development, and independence for children with a variety of learning styles and challenges. Responsibilities Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) that align with each student's unique needs and goals Design engaging lesson plans across core subjects such as literacy, math, and social skills, incorporating curriculum development best practices Utilize evidence-based behavioral management techniques and behavioral therapy strategies to promote positive classroom behavior Adapt instructional materials and teaching methods to accommodate students with autism, developmental disabilities, hearing impairments, or other special needs including deaf education Conduct assessments, standardized testing, and progress monitoring to evaluate student growth and inform instruction Collaborate closely with speech therapists, occupational therapists, counselors, and parents to support holistic student development Manage classroom behavior effectively through proactive classroom management strategies and child-centered discipline approaches Provide early intervention support for preschool-aged children and assist in transition planning for older students moving to higher grade levels or post-secondary settings Incorporate speech therapy techniques and literacy education strategies to enhance communication skills and reading proficiency Engage in ongoing professional development related to childhood development, Montessori methods, or other specialized educational frameworks Experience Prior classroom experience working with children in elementary or preschool settings, preferably within special education environments Demonstrated success in lesson planning tailored for diverse learners with disabilities or developmental delays Proven ability to work effectively with individuals with autism, behavioral health challenges, or other special needs populations Experience developing and implementing IEPs in compliance with educational standards and legal requirements Familiarity with curriculum development for early childhood education or Montessori methodologies is a plus Strong communication skills for mentoring students, collaborating with colleagues, and engaging families effectively Knowledge of behavioral health practices, behavioral management techniques, and tutoring strategies for children facing learning challenges Join us in creating an inspiring learning environment where every child is supported to reach their full potential!
Pay:
$46,680.00 - $86,671.00 per year
