: Responsible for working with the hatchery management to oversee all aspects of egg transfer to ensure quality performance resulting in superior quality birds being delivered to our growers.DAILY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
: Responsible for supervising, coaching, and training hatchery transfer staff to maximize utilization, correct pull order, correct vaccination of the eggs, minimize breakage/cracking of eggs, sanitation, and correct positioning of eggs in the hatcher trays and hatchers. Assist management with planning and organizing the day-to-day operations of the transfer department, including scheduling staff and logistics of egg movement through the transfer process. Assist the hatchery manager in ensuring all biosecurity, safety, quality, and animal welfare procedures are strictly adhered to. Manage and maintain weekly transfer schedules. Manage daily transfer vaccine inventory and application. Monitor facility equipment to ensure proper maintenance. Identify potential problems of fertility or hatchability, and report issues as needed to the hatchery manager. Maintain ongoing commitment of quality program in all regards to consistently produce quality broiler chicks. Cross train in all areas of the hatchery to provide backup to supervisors in other areas of the hatchery operation. Ensure all company safety policies and procedures are followed to ensure a safe working environment by promoting, adhering to, and holding employees accountable to those policies. Attend meetings and training as required. Effectively communicate with HR and other supporting departments if conflict or dilemmas arise with employees in your charge. Manage employee timecards and time off requests. Perform employee disciplinary actions, including verbal, written, and suspension paperwork and all other required documentation. All other duties not listed but requested by Production Management, Senior Leadership, and Human Resources.REQUIREMENTS OF THE POSITION
MUST possess a minimum of two years' work experience in a related field, including previous supervisory or management experience. MUST be familiar with manufacturing yields, plant efficiencies, and operational procedures. MUST have knowledge of food safety programs, including HACCP programs, SSOP's and GMP's. MUST possess skills in communicating in a courteous and professional manner, both verbally and in writing to all team members. Ability to motivate team members to drive and achieve production goals as well as be responsible for performance management of your team including goal setting and providing performance reviews yearly. MUST have exceptional time management and prioritizing skills. MUST know how to effectively utilize a personal computer and a variety of software, including Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook. MUST be able to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing. Must be able to pass required physical including demonstrating your ability to lift the required weight for each position. Ability to stand or walk for an entire 8-hour shift. Ability to reflect the values of our company in public settings. Ability to work flexible hours as needed.PREFERRED EXPERIENCE
Experience in poultry or other food processing plants is highly preferred but not required. Knowledge in process improvement principles is preferred. Higher education in leadership, manufacturing, logistics, or a related field is preferred, however experience in lieu of degree will always be considered. Bilingual skills in Spanish and/or Karen are preferred but not required.Note:
