EXEMPT X NON-EXEMPT JOB DESCRIPTION
To facilitate student comprehension and application of concepts skills and behaviors that contribute to the development of mature, able, and responsible members of society.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Demonstrate support for the school system and its vision, goals, and priorities.
  • Provide a rigorous curriculum that aligns with the Alabama Department of Education (ALSDE) and Career & Technical Education (CTE) Course of Study.
  • Sponsor a Career Technical Education Student Organization (CTSO) and participates in at least one program-related competition per year.
  • Adhere to school system rules, administrative procedures, local board policies, and state and federal rules and regulations.
  • Work collaboratively with teachers, administrators, parents, school and agency counselors, and related service providers in the overall educational plan for students enrolled in the education setting.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of the individual education service and transition plan for students enrolled in the education setting.
  • Engages in professional growth & demonstrate professional ethics & leadership.
  • Use current technology for instruction and management purposes.
  • Ability to compile and analyze data, and interpret the laws, policies, and regulations pertaining to the work. Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Effective oral and written communication.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Associate's degree in Fire Science, Fire Technology, Fire Administration, Fire Fighter/Paramedic, Law & Public Safety, or in a related area OR
  • Firefighter I and Firefighter II
  • Fire Instructor I School systems planning to offer the National Fire Protection Agency 1001 certification must employ a teacher who holds Fire Instructor I certification.
