What You'll Do As an Employment Specialist, you will play a key role in helping individuals with disabilities prepare for, obtain, and maintain successful employment opportunities within the community. Career Exploration & Individual Support Assist individuals with career exploration, vocational assessments, and job matching Participate in intake meetings for individuals referred through DVR and Extended Employment programs Develop individualized employment plans and provide one-on-one coaching and guidance Teach job readiness, workplace skills, and employment preparation in both group and individual settings Support participants through every stage of their employment journey Job Development & Community Engagement Build and maintain relationships with community employers and business partners Develop opportunities for permanent employment, job sampling, assessments, and Trial Work Experiences (TWEs) Conduct job site analyses and evaluate employment opportunities Successfully place individuals into competitive community employment Coordinate meetings with participants, families, employers, DVR counselors, and support teams Job Coaching & Ongoing Support Provide on-site and follow-along job coaching to ensure successful placements Support participants in developing workplace confidence, independence, and professional skills Monitor progress and maintain accurate participant documentation and records Compliance & Professional Collaboration Maintain timely case notes, reports, billing documentation, and job development logs Collaborate closely with DVR counselors, employers, families, and internal teams Attend trainings, conferences, and team meetings to remain current on industry best practices Maintain knowledge of labor laws, disability services regulations, and public entitlement guidelines What You Bring Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Psychology, Sociology, Rehabilitation Counseling, or a related field Valid New Jersey Driver's License with a strong driving record Proficiency with Microsoft Office and electronic records/database systems Ability to complete and maintain required trainings, including: CPR/First Aid Mental Health First Aid DVR/DDD Requirements Inroads-specific trainings Preferred Qualities We're looking for someone who is: Compassionate and person-centered Organized and detail-oriented A strong communicator and relationship builder Self-motivated and dependable Passionate about inclusion, empowerment, and advocacy Comfortable working independently and collaboratively Why Join Inroads?
