Carolina First EMS is a growing emergency medical and non-emergency medical transportation company based in Elgin, SC. We provide BLS and NEMT services across Kershaw, Richland, Lexington, and surrounding counties — connecting patients with the care they need, every day. Job Overview We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) to join our team. As an EMT, you will play a crucial role in providing emergency medical care to patients in various situations. You will be responsible for assessing patients' conditions, delivering appropriate medical interventions, and ensuring safe transport to healthcare facilities. This position requires a strong commitment to patient care, teamwork, and the ability to work in high-pressure environments. Responsibilities Perform triage to prioritize patient care based on the severity of their condition. Provide immediate patient care, including basic life support and physical examinations. Manage airways effectively and perform necessary interventions. Administer medications and injections as required under medical protocols. Monitor vital signs and document changes in patients' conditions accurately. Assist with heavy lifting of patients during transport and transfer. Maintain a clean and organized work environment, ensuring all equipment is ready for use. Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure optimal patient outcomes. Participate in ongoing training and education to stay current with EMT practices and protocols. Qualifications Certification as an Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) is required. Strong knowledge of anatomy and physiology relevant to emergency care. Experience in administering injections and medication administration is preferred. Ability to perform heavy lifting and manage physically demanding tasks. Excellent communication skills for effective interaction with patients and team members. Strong critical thinking skills for assessing situations and making quick decisions. Previous experience in emergency medical services or related fields is a plus.
