Description:
Responsible for all phases of the epoxy process from preparation, application to completion of project. Ensures the quality of each job as per company standards.
Responsibilities:
Ability to weigh and mix epoxy using an electronic gram scale, operate air actuated dispensers and read work orders. Select proper size needles and syringes for different applications of colored epoxies. Mixes, matches, and applies paint, varnish, shellac, enamel, and other finishes to various manufactured articles and surfaces. Completes touchups and arranges large painting projects. Applies paint to surfaces including metal, wood, plastic, canvas, walls, floors, doors, and cabinets using spray guns, rollers, and/or brushes. Cleans grease and dirt from product, using materials, such as lacquer thinner, turpentine, soap, and water. Removes previous finishes, grinds, scrapes, sands, sandblasts, buffs, primes, seals, and performs other necessary preparation work prior to painting. Applies masking tape over parts and areas that are not to be coated and covers surrounding surfaces with cloth or plastic to ensure protection. Fills cracks, holes, dents, and joints with caulk, putty, plaster, or other fillers, using caulking guns or putty knives. Calculates amounts of required materials and estimate costs. Selects and mixes paint to produce desired color, according to specifications. Applies several coats according to paint directions and applies touchups or additional coats. Cleans paint splatters, spray guns, rollers, and brushes with solvent. Must adhere to company quality levels, company policies and safety standards. Maintain good working relationships with others within the organization. Maintain a safe, clean, and well-organized work environment. Foster a positive team atmosphere that inspires great work performance. Performs team-related duties and coverage as required. Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
1+ year of manufacturing experience Excellent eye and hand coordination. Knowledge and skill of paint brush selection, jewelry painting, antiquing, and wiping.
