Position Description Advertised Job Summary Responsible for the day-to-day management and operations of the energy distribution steam crew and high voltage shop. Job Related Minimum Required Education and Experience Requires a bachelor's degree in a job related field and 5 or more years of job related experience, which may be substituted by an equivalent combination of job related certification, training, education, and/or experience. Required Certification, Licensure/Other Credentials Driver's license required. Preferred Qualifications High School Diploma and 10 years professional experience in a specialized trades area; or in diversified building or vehicle maintenance, or construction activity. Supervisory experience must be in an energy related field or business. Knowledge/Skills/Abilities Thorough knowledge of application and practices for large central steam and chilled water distribution systems, and HVAC mechanical systems. Working knowledge of high voltage systems and equipment, working knowledge of direct digital control (DDC) energy management systems. Must have the ability to write and interpret complex technical plans and reports; to communicate verbally and in writing and communicate effectively with management and other professionals. Demonstrated organizational, planning, and scheduling skills; Problem solving skills; Teambuilding skills and customer service skills. Ability to multitask and manage multiple and complex duties concurrently. Prioritize work activities in alignment with the department's goals. Coordinates crews and contractors in the accomplishment of energy and infrastructure work on the Columbia campus. Investigating incidents and near misses; maintaining safety documentation and reporting metrics; Coordinating corrective actions.
