Job Description

Job Description We are seeking a specialized Energy / Mechanical Engineer to drive the sustainable and efficient design of our facility mechanical systems. The ideal candidate will bridge the gap between conceptual energy modeling and practical mechanical execution. You will work closely with architectural, electrical, and controls teams to design highly efficient HVAC and hydronic systems, optimize building performance, and ensure our facilities meet aggressive energy reduction targets. What You'll Do Energy & Sustainability
  • Run energy models and simulations to improve building performance and reduce carbon emissions
  • Identify energy efficiency opportunities (ECMs) and available local incentives or credits System Design & Engineering
  • Design HVAC, central plant (CUP), and hydronic systems for large R D and manufacturing facilities
  • Perform heating/cooling load calculations to properly size equipment
  • Select key mechanical equipment (chillers, boilers, cooling towers, AHUs, pumps, etc.) Collaboration & Optimization
  • Partner with Controls Engineering to develop efficient system operations
  • Evaluate lifecycle costs to inform smart design decisions Compliance & Standards
  • Ensure designs meet relevant building codes and energy standards (ASHRAE, Title 24, etc.) Project Support Manage and prioritize design requests across:
  • New construction projects
  • Existing facility support
  • Site upgrades and improvements Pay range for this role is $58

  • 5+ years of hands-on experience in mechanical/HVAC system design.
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Architectural Engineering, or a related field.
  • Experience with decarbonization initiatives and CO2/emissions analysis.
  • Strong understanding of energy-efficient and sustainable building design.
  • Proficient in energy modeling and load calculation tools (EnergyPlus, IESVE, TRACE, HAP, OpenStudio)
  • Solid foundation in thermodynamics, fluid mechanics, and heat transfer
  • Experience designing custom HVAC systems (airside & waterside)
  • Knowledge of variable flow hydronic systems and specialized exhaust systems
  • Experience with Revit and AutoCAD (BIM tools)
  • Ability to read and create mechanical drawings, P&IDs, and construction documents
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license, Certified Energy Manager (CEM), or LEED AP certifications
