58/50695358/EIA-E5/5.7.2026-JB At the Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development (DOTD), we plan, build, maintain, and protect the transportation systems that connect communities, support commerce, and keep Louisiana moving. The overall purpose of this position is to assist the Project Engineer in planning, directing, and coordinating activities for a construction unit which provides supervision, inspection and survey activities for all types of major complex highway and bridge construction projects. This position is located in the LaSalle Parish Project Engineer's office. The incumbent must be self-motivated and able to perform duties many times with or without minimal supervision. Eligibility for a Louisiana Engineer Intern Certificate.NOTE:
This is a temporary position to be utilized while the incumbent is securing a Louisiana Engineer Intern certificate. Permanent status shall be denied to incumbents occupying this position.NOTE:

Direct a staff of construction inspectors by planning and coordinating construction activities. Responsible for the interpretation of the plans and application of the Standard Specifications for complex construction projects which are assigned to any unit. Approves and monitors erosion control plans. Develops and writes Change Orders to resolve complex problems. Interacts with private citizens, elected and public officials to resolve conflicts and complaints concerning rights-or-way, construction, and traffic problems.Position-Specific Details:

These positions have a Special Entrance Rate (SER) as listed below. Engineer Intern 1 - $26.44 hourly / $2,115.20 bi-weekly Engineer Intern 2 - $28.29 hourly / $2,263.20 bi-weekly Engineer 3 - $33.39 hourly / $2,671.20 bi-weekly Engineer 4 - $36.90 hourly / $2,952.00 bi-weekly Engineer 5 - $39.48 hourly / $3,158.40 bi-weekly Required certification for applicants interested in qualifying for Engineer Intern 1 or 2: Engineer Intern Certificate in the state of Louisiana. Required License for applicants interested in qualifying for Engineer 3, 4, or 5: Professional Engineer License in the state of Louisiana.How To Apply:
