New Product Development (NPD) Engineer is responsible for designing and adapting new methods to process secondary operations on tubing products using new and available technologies.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities :
Design and develop processes for performing secondary operations on tubing to meet predefined customer requirements. This includes, but is not limited to, tipping, flaring, cutting, pad printing, drilling/punching holes, bonding, laminating, and machining/tooling design. Lead long term development projects as required, from proof of concept through production. Maintain project schedules and provide status updates to customers when necessary. Process customer orders by setting up machines to perform automated operations or setting up for manual operations. Engineer may be responsible for performing operations to complete orders as needed.
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or plastics. Consideration will be given to candidates with significant relevant experience. 3+ Years working in a manufacturing environment. Familiarity with quality management systems. Some experience with plastics.
Preferred Qualifications:
Knowledge of catheter manufacturing and assembly methods. Working knowledge of GMP, ISO13485 or 21 CFR 820. Ability to perform basic machining operations (lathe, vertical mill, etc.)
Physical Qualifications:
Regularly required to stand, sit, walk, use hands to input, handle or feel, use of arms to reach, able to hear and talk. Possess hand motor skills necessary for operating precision measuring devices and tools. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision and ability to adjust focus. Required to stand/sit for the majority of an 8 hour workday and lift/push/pull up to 50lbs throughout work shift w/wo assistance.
