Get to Know This Role The Engineering Intern role is designed to support Sierra Nevada Brewing Company's Central Engineering department by providing project, documentation, and organizational support across multiple brewery sites. This position offers engineering students hands-on exposure to corporate engineering functions such as capital project support, asset and drawing standardization, engineering documentation management, and continuous improvement initiatives. The intern will work alongside Central Engineering team members to help organize technical information, support cross-site engineering coordination, and assist with projects that improve engineering standards, visibility, and execution across the organization. This role is well-suited for a student interested in understanding how large-scale manufacturing engineering organizations operate at a corporate level. The internship includes the opportunity to contribute to and present a defined project aligned with Central Engineering priorities. What You Will Do Support Central Engineering with coordination and execution of corporate engineering initiatives spanning multiple brewery locations Assist with organizing, reviewing, and updating plant engineering drawings, layouts, and technical documentation to improve accuracy, accessibility, and long-term usability Help maintain engineering documentation standards, including drawing control, revision tracking, and archival of project records Provide support to active capital projects through document preparation, data collection, schedule coordination, and status tracking Assist with compilation and analysis of engineering data related to asset performance, infrastructure condition, or project scoping Participate in the development and refinement of engineering tools, templates, and standard work (e.g., project trackers, documentation templates, reference libraries) Coordinate with site engineering, maintenance, and operations teams to support information flow between plant-level and Central Engineering activities Participate in team meetings and brewery-wide communications to gain exposure to corporate engineering decision-making and company culture Contribute to continuous improvement efforts focused on reliability, sustainability, safety, and long-term asset stewardship Please Apply if You Have Must be a current CSU, Chico or Butte Community College student, majoring in Engineering (Mechanical, Industrial, Chemical, or related field) required Basic understanding of core engineering principles (mechanical, industrial, electrical, or manufacturing) Familiarity with engineering concepts, systems, and terminology Knowledge of safety standards and industrial workplace protocols Strong analytical and problem-solving skills Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word) Effective written and verbal communication skills Project management fundamentals, including time management and task prioritization Work collaboratively in cross-functional teams Adapt quickly to new environments, tools, and challenges Apply academic knowledge to real-world engineering problems Preferred familiarity with AutoCAD or similar drafting software, with the ability to review, mark up, or assist in updating basic engineering drawings Strong organizational skills with attention to detail; ability to manage engineering documents, drawings, and data in a structured environment Interest in capital projects, asset management, infrastructure systems, or corporate engineering functions within a manufacturing environment Ability to work across teams and sites, supporting standardized engineering practices while understanding local plant context Additional Requirements to Consider Before Applying Selected candidate must pass a pre-employment, post offer background check Before applying for this role, please review the full job description, including the physical demands and working environment: https://sierranevada.jdxpert.com/ShowJob.aspx?
