Job Description
Overview:
We are seeking a versatile Engineering Technician to support our end-to-end equipment lifecycle—from initial customer layout and quoting to final assembly and technical support. You will serve as a technical bridge between sales and production, ensuring our customers receive high-quality, well-documented machinery solutions.Job Description:
Design & Layout:
Use SolidWorks to create detailed equipment layouts and site plans tailored to specific customer needs.Fabrication Support:
Generate precise shop drawings for the fabrication team, ensuring all mechanical tolerances and material specifications are met. Shop floor interaction as necessary to ensure design intentions.Technical Support:
Provide friendly and expert-level technical support via phone/email to troubleshoot electrical and hydraulic equipment issues in the field. Document issues to build help desk support library.Documentation:
Create, update, and maintain comprehensive user manuals for all equipment and models sold to our customers.Project Support:
Work with customers and sales team to prepare accurate quotations.Systems:
Manage data and project workflows within Odoo (ERP), SolidWorks, Office 365, and QuickBooks.Training:
Conduct technical overview and training as requested by customers, including documentation and presentations.Hands-on Assembly:
Step away from the desk to assist in the shop with the physical assembly and testing of equipment as production demands require. This may include electrical control panels and hydraulic power units. Various technical tasks as directed by supervisor or management.Preferred Skills:
Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.Technical Literacy:
Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, hydraulic diagrams, and PLC I/O references. Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.Communication:
Excellent verbal and written skills for customer focused support and technical writing.Versatility:
A "shop-floor friendly" attitude with the mechanical aptitude to handle tools and assist in equipment assemblies as necessary.Software Proficiency:
Strong working knowledge of SolidWorks (CAD), Odoo (ERP), Microsoft Office, and QuickBooks is highly preferred.Pay:
