Quality Engineer Requirements and Competencies Bachelor of science degree in engineering or quality assurance OR ASQ certified quality engineering (CQE) certification. Aerospace experience a plus.

Quality Engineer Duties Proactively identifies, leads and/or assists in process development and improvements; maintains a team focus on continuous improvement. Projects - Owns and/or tracks various projects or project tasks as assigned by supervisor or manager; develops solutions and carries out actions to run project to ground and implement accordingly; serves as point-of-contact on assigned projects and communicates project status to management and necessary parties. Contract Review - Completes QE portions of contract review in system; conducts contract review (QE) by evaluating customer purchase orders, systems requirements, drawings, as well as all purchase order/drawing supplements. Corrective Action (CA) - Carries out corrective action flowed down internally or by customers and industry oversight committees; originates CA and sees that all necessary actions are carried out through to closure; initiates and actions containment of product in stock, WIP, or with customer, if necessary; investigates issue, facilitates root cause and corrective action process, develops and implements action plan or assists others in process. Production Part Approval Process (PPAP) Submittals - Creates PPAP packages by accurately inputting data into required forms, gathering required documentation, and submitting to customer; tracks workflow of PPAPs; reviews and approves PPAPs prepared by QA Techs. QA/QE Support - Serves as a 'go-to' for support in quality processes, customer, industry, and internal specifications/requirements, and company's BMS; provides training on quality requirements and may own quality sections in induction training process; answers questions regarding quality requirements and provides QA/QE support for all team members in the company; performs QA Tech level 1 and 2 functions, as needed. Training - Creates and leads training and educational sessions company-wide to ensure team members are knowledgeable in root cause/corrective action, SPC, MSA, and other quality tools. Other duties as assigned. This is an exempt position that operates every Monday through Friday, from 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Earlier start times and later end times will be required based on workload and the ability to support manufacturing processes as needed.
