- Perform nondestructive testing (NDT) on materials and components to identify defects without causing damage, ensuring product safety, quality, and reliability
- Conduct NDT inspections using methods including radiographic (X-ray), ultrasonic, liquid penetrant, magnetic particle, eddy current, and advanced imaging techniques (e.g., 3D inspection where applicable)
- Develop, implement, and maintain NDT testing procedures and inspection protocols tailored to specific materials, components, and customer requirements
- Interpret test results, identify defects or anomalies, and evaluate material integrity in accordance with applicable industry standards and specifications
- Prepare detailed inspection reports documenting findings, measurements, compliance status, and recommended corrective actions
- Ensure compliance with internal quality standards, customer specifications, and regulatory requirements (ASNT, ASTM, aerospace standards, etc.)
- Set up, calibrate, and maintain NDT equipment to ensure accuracy, reliability, and repeatability of test results
- Maintain complete and accurate documentation of inspections, calibration records, test results, and corrective actions
- Collaborate with engineering, quality, and manufacturing teams to support defect analysis and continuous improvement initiatives
- Travel to customer or production sites as required to perform inspections, audits, or technical support activities
- Support rework and evaluation of aerospace castings and other high-precision components as needed
- Participate in root cause analysis and corrective action processes related to quality or material defects
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor"s Degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Materials, Civil, Aerospace, or related field)
- Current NDT Level II or Level III certification
- Minimum 8+ years of experience in nondestructive testing, inspection, or quality engineering
- Experience working with aerospace castings or high-precision manufactured components
- Strong understanding of multiple NDT methods and their real-world applications
- Experience interpreting technical drawings, specifications, and inspection standards
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, including root cause analysis experience
- Ability to document and communicate technical findings clearly and accurately
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality and safety standards
- Ability to work independently in both shop floor and field inspection environments
- Willingness to travel up to ~25% depending on project requirements
- Experience with X-ray/radiographic imaging systems and advanced inspection technologies
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Experience in aerospace, defense, or high-reliability manufacturing environments
- Familiarity with rework operations and defect analysis in castings or machined components
- Experience supporting audits, customer inspections, or regulatory compliance reviews
- Strong communication skills for interaction with engineering, quality, and customer stakeholders
