Work alongside designers to define products that are as aerodynamically efficient as they are aesthetically pleasing. Developing aerodynamic concepts in CAD; evaluating and refining them using CFD (Computational Fluid Dynamics) and other numerical tools. Defining and executing wind tunnel and test programs. Analyzing and documenting test and simulation results and presenting findings. Providing feedback to the Programs teams and executives on aerodynamic attributes and development status. Working with engineers to perfect part execution for aerodynamics and resolve design conflicts. Supporting Vehicle Dynamics, Test, and Modeling teams in vehicle level attribute optimization and characterization. Full time employment, Monday - Friday, 40 hours per week, $205,500.00 per year.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering or a related field, and 6 years of related work experience. Alternatively, will accept a Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering or a related field, and 4 years of related work experience.
  • Must have 4 years of experience in automotive/motorsport aerodynamics design for lift and drag optimization;
  • Must have 4 years of experience in using CFD software for aerodynamics simulation preparation and execution;
  • Must have 4 years of experience in conducting aerodynamics testing in wind tunnels;
  • Must have 4 years of experience in using CAD to create and manipulate 3D surface geometry; and
  • Must have 2 years of experience in leading automotive aerodynamics development projects.
Requires domestic travel up to 15%, and international travel up to 5% in order to complete testing activities in support of vehicle development and collaborate on projects with other business groups. Guide the definition, characterization, and qualification of composite solutions to ensure that all materials and parts meet the highest standards for structural integrity, durability, quality, and manufacturability. Responsible for the end-to-end development of advanced composite materials and structural components for next-generation, high-performance automotive applications. Develop and implement the Building Block Approach (BBA) to guide composite material and component validation. Lead development and selection of composite materials, including definition of specifications, performance targets, and manufacturing criteria. Design and manage comprehensive test plans for materials, subcomponents, and full-scale composite structures. Conduct and oversee material and component-level testing to characterize mechanical properties and ensure compliance with technical requirements. Define and document quality requirements, assembly specifications, and performance criteria for composite parts. Establish repair strategies for composite components and work with cross-functional teams to validate repair methods. Determine the resources, materials, and equipment required for internal production and prototyping of composite components. Collaborate with internal teams including Simulation, Manufacturing, Laboratory, and Test Engineering to ensure product integration and performance. Support root cause investigations, non-destructive inspection (NDI), and continuous improvement initiatives. Document findings, results, and engineering decisions in accordance with company processes and standards. Full time employment, Monday - Friday, 40 hours per week, $172,540.00 per year.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Automotive Engineering, or a related field, and 7 years of progressive, post-baccalaureate work experience. Alternatively, will accept a Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Automotive Engineering, or a related field, and 5 years of work experience.
  • Must have 5 years of experience in the field of Supersports cars;
  • Must have 5 years of experience in Advanced composite materials development, including specification and performance validation;
  • Must have 5 years of experience in material testing and characterization, including tensile, fatigue, DMA, or DSC;
  • Must have 5 years of experience in Non-destructive inspection techniques including C-scan, thermography, and/or CT scanning;
  • Must have 5 years of experience in composite manufacturing processes, including prepreg, RTM, or infusion;
  • Must have 5 years of experience in adhesive bonding and composite joining technologies;
  • Must have 5 years of experience in the development of test plans and analysis of test data for composite structures; and
  • Must have 5 years of experience in use of CAD software, including CATIA, for part design and integration.
