Full Job Description About Us:
Master Research & Manufacturing (MRM) is a precision aerospace machine shop specializing in complex CNC machined components for military and defense applications. We are a growing, fast-paced team committed to quality, precision, and on-time delivery.
Position Overview:
We are looking for a motivated and detail-oriented Manufacturing Engineering Planner to support production planning and technical workflow development for aerospace components. This role is critical in translating customer requirements into clear, accurate, and efficient manufacturing plans that drive successful production.
Key Responsibilities:
Review customer drawings, specifications, and purchase orders to develop detailed manufacturing plans Create and maintain routers, work instructions, and operation sequences for CNC machining and secondary processes Define tooling, fixturing, and inspection requirements Collaborate with estimating, programming, quality, and production teams to ensure alignment on job requirements Ensure all technical data packages are complete, accurate, and up to date before release to the shop floor Support engineering changes and revision control updates Identify opportunities for process improvements and cost efficiencies Assist with troubleshooting manufacturing issues and providing technical support as needed
Qualifications:
2-3 years of experience in aerospace manufacturing or CNC machining environment Strong ability to read and interpret complex aerospace drawings and specifications Experience creating routers and manufacturing plans Familiarity with AS9100 standards and quality requirements Knowledge of materials, machining processes, and outside processing (anodize, heat treat, etc.) Strong organizational skills and attention to detail Proficient in JobBoss, Catia, NX systems Excellent communication and cross-functional collaboration skills
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience working with military/defense aerospace customers (e.g., Lockheed Martin, Northrop Grumman, etc.) Exposure to CNC machining or shop floor operations Familiarity with aerospace standards (AS9100) Understanding of GD&T fundamentals Background in CNC programming or machining
