We are seeking a skilled and motivated Aviation Civil Engineer to join our aviation practice. In this role, you will contribute to the design, and delivery of aviation and civil site infrastructure projects across the U.S. and internationally. You will work as part of multidisciplinary teams to provide high-quality, technically sound designs that support safe, sustainable, and efficient aviation facilities. Aviation Civil Engineer:
Perform detailed engineering calculations using advanced software to support analysis and design efforts. Prepare and coordinate aviation civil construction documents—including drawings, specifications, technical reports, cost estimates, and implementable schedules—in accordance with industry standards and best practices. Conduct site investigations and field reconnaissance to collect existing physical data to promote informed design decisions. Collaborate with senior engineering staff on complex technical challenges and project solutions. Provide mentorship and technical guidance to junior designers and engineers. Coordinate with internal teams, external clients, and construction contractors to achieve project objectives. Stay current with FAA criteria, emerging technologies, and industry regulations to improve deliverable quality and efficiency. Support additional project-related tasks as assigned to meet client and project needs.
Requirements:
Education and Licensure:
Bachelor's degree in civil engineering or a related field. Possess a Professional Engineer (PE) license, and the ability to acquire additional registration in the State of the office assigned, through comity, within six (6) months. Minimum of five (5) years of civil engineering project experience.
Technical Qualifications:
Proficiency in CAD software, including AutoCAD and Civil 3D - including modeling Experience using design tools relevant to aviation and civil site infrastructure. Working knowledge of FAA Advisory Circulars and applicable aviation design standards and airspace considerations Practical knowledge of drainage calculations and related design standards. Proficiency with airfield lighting and navigational aid layout, and fundamental knowledge of electrical features. Ability to produce accurate, high-quality engineering drawings and construction documents within assigned timelines and established budgets.
Professional Skills:
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with attention to detail. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Public speaking experience is a plus. Ability to work effectively in multidisciplinary teams and dynamic project environments. Proactive, adaptable, and capable of managing multiple technical challenges and deadlines. Experience with or exposure to interfacing with the Federal Aviation Administration and/or a State Aviation or Aeronautic Office.
Salary Range:
