Full Job Description Overview:
We are seeking a full-time Aviation Systems Intergration & Test Engineer at Garmin's U.S. headquarters in the Greater Kansas City area to develop innovative solutions that delight our customers across aviation market segments. Working in close collaboration with cross-functional engineering teams, you will apply your systems integration and test skills to create superior avionics products and services. Responsibilities:
Essential Functions Define and maintain system requirements, system architectures, and technical documentation for avionics systems and functions Plan and execute integration testing to verify system requirements and validate functionality against customer expectations Troubleshoot complex bench and simulator issues to identify root cause and suggest corrective action Clearly communicate issues observed during testing and recommend solutions to engineering teams Demonstrates broad understanding of Garmin's aviation products and services, including customer experience across market segments Proactively improve systems integration and test processes, procedures, and tools Exemplify Garmin's Mission, Vision, Values, and Quality Policy and proactively work to improve Garmin's image and culture
Qualifications:
Basic Qualifications Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or another relevant technical field AND a minimum of 1 year relevant experience OR an equivalent combination of education and experience Excellent academics (cumulative GPA greater than or equal to 3.0 as a general rule) Demonstrated advanced knowledge in one or more of the following technical areas: Systems Integration, System Safety System Requirements System Security Must be team-orientated, posses a positive attitude and work well with others Demonstrated strong and effective verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills Desired Qualifications Master's Degree in an Engineering field Outstanding academics (cumulative GPA greater than or equal to 3.5) Demonstrated passion for and involvement in the aviation community Operational knowledge of Garmin or competitive avionics (e.g pilot's certificate with instrument rating) Experience with Avionics certification standards and guidance such as ARP 4754B or 4761A Garmin International is an equal opportunity employer.
