Job Title:
Avionics Systems Engineer Job Description We are seeking a dedicated Avionics Systems Engineer who will play a crucial role in system designs, aircraft modifications, and supporting technical documentation. This role involves working on high-level defense programs in the aerospace industry. Responsibilities Develop and maintain technical requirements documents, system schematics, and descriptions. Create and manage supplier requirements and interface control documents (ICDs). Design wiring diagrams and certification plans in accordance with FAA, TCCA, and EASA standards. Prepare issue papers and compliance reports. Develop functional and qualification test plans and reports. Conduct aircraft-level test plans and reports. Perform and support requirements management, including validation and verification activities. Review installation drawings and qualification test data. Analyze ground and flight test data to verify system performance. Support change management activities, including concept development, trade studies, and impact analysis. Participate in internal and external design reviews and program governance activities. Support supplier management and technical subcontract oversight. Ensure compliance with 14 CFR Part 25, FAA, TCCA, and EASA certification requirements. Essential Skills Proficiency in systems schematics, test plans, and test reports. Experience with avionics systems for at least 24 months. Ability to manage system engineering aspects of multiple programs of varying complexities. Experience with FAA, TCCA, and EASA Part 25 certification standards. U.S. Citizenship or Permanent Residency required for ITAR compliance. Additional Skills & Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Electronics, Systems Engineering, or a related field. Minimum of 5 years of systems engineering (or related) experience. Familiarity with
ARP4754A
(civil aircraft and systems development). Knowledge of system safety processes. Experience with industry standards such as RTCA DO-160 and DO-178. Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access). Experience with AutoCAD is preferred. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Ability to build effective relationships with cross-functional teams and suppliers. Self-motivated, organized, and able to manage multiple priorities. Job Type & Location This is a Contract position based out of Wichita, KS. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $85.00 - $105.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
