CACI is looking for an experienced, hands-on Aerospace Engineer to support design, analysis, and integration efforts for unmanned aerial systems (UAS). The ideal candidate will bring strong modeling and simulation skills, a practical approach to mechanical integration, and good abstract problem-solving ability. Candidates should be willing to contribute individually and as part of a team across the full development lifecycle.Responsibilities
- Develop and modify CAD models and engineering drawings using SolidWorks
- Perform CFD and flow analysis to support aerodynamic design
- Manage design files and workflows using Windchill (EPDM)
- Support physical assembly, integration, and testing of UAS components and systems
- Assist in the creation of documentation, manuals, and technical materials
- Coordinate with cross-functional teams to support system-level integration
- Participate in planning and coordination efforts across multiple projects.
Qualifications:
Required- 7+ years of related experience Proficiency in SolidWorks MATLAB and Windchill (EPDM)
- T is no clearance requirement to begin employment. As a requirement of continued employment you will be required to obtain Secret clearance
- Experience conducting CFD or other aerodynamic flow analysis
- Willingness to mentor/train other engineers
- Mechanical aptitude and willingness to be hands-on with builds and integration
- Familiarity with 3D printing and additive manufacturing techniques
- Strong organizational and communication skills
- Familiar with composite aerostructures
- Project management experience.
- Experience using Mission Planner for flight configuration and planning
- Active security clearance
- Familiar with Radio Frequency theory RC pilot experience (fixed wing and multirotor)
- Background or interest in UAVs/UAS
- Demonstrated skills in RC aircraft build and construction
- Familiarity with modern RC technologies such as Betaflight, EdgeTX, DJI FPV, INAV, and ExpressLRS
- Ability to PID tune multirotor aircraft
- Hobbyist experience with 3D printers, CNC routers, laser cutters, or foam cutters
- Experience with small engines, including tuning and adjustment of high/low-speed needle valves-
