Aircraft Systems Safety Engineer (Associate, Experienced, or Senior)

Boeing Defense Space and Security (BDS) is looking for an Associate (Level 2), Experienced (Level 3), or Senior (Level 4) Systems/Software Safety Engineer to join the US Air Force T-7 Red Hawk program located in Berkeley, MO or Hazelwood, MO . As a member of the Systems Safety engineering team, this individual will be working closely with the customer & other program teams (software, platform systems, flight engineering, production, integration, testing, and product support) to identify all potential safety hazards and to develop associated mitigation for incorporation into the final design. This position best suited for someone with strong critical thinking skill, works well in a cross functional team environment, ability to apply Seek, Speak and Listen methodology to efficiently connect with teammates and customers. Strong written and oral communication is also an important part of this assignment.

Primary responsibilities:

Oversees and leads new and innovative approaches to identify, analyze, and assess regulatory and contractual compliance of aerospace systems, products and services. Identifies, analyzes, and assesses safety and mission risks to establish aerospace system, product, or service safety mitigations and control methods. Conducts system research and analysis to identify potential or investigate reported in-service fleet hazards, risks, and safety concerns and quantifies impact. Identifies safety and mission assurance issue systemic root causes and recommends corrective actions using industry best practices. Collaborates with internal and external stakeholders to define, validate, and integrate safety, mission success, and airworthiness requirements; incorporates into designs, operations, and procedures. Verifies system meets defined safety and mission assurance requirements through conducting and supporting tests, analyses, inspections, audits, and simulations. Creates and maintains aerospace safety and mission assurance training, tools, and resources. Documents safety analysis, hazard mitigation, validation and verification activities in compliance with relevant customer and regulatory standards. Develops and maintains corrective action plans. Demonstrates safety hazard risk mitigations and control methods to the customer and regulators. Ensures mission success through execution of Mission Assurance activities throughout the program lifecycle. Establishes, promotes, and enacts strategies and initiatives to enhance global aerospace safety. This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at one of the listed location options. Basic Qualifications (Required Skills and Experience): Level 2: 2+ years of related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience Level 3: 5+ years of related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience Level 4: 9+ years of related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited course of study in engineering, engineering technology (includes manufacturing engineering technology), chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills and Experience): Experience in System Safety or Software Safety Experience with Military platforms or Boeing products

Summary Pay Range :

Associate (Level 2): $70,550

• $95,450 Experienced (Level 3): $86,700
• $117,300 Senior (Level 4): $107,100
