Senior Aerospace Systems Engineer:
Space Communications and Operations We are seeking a Senior Aerospace Systems Engineer with Space Communications and Operations Experience to join our systems engineering team. Candidates should have experience in satellite communications systems design, implementation, and operations.
Core responsibilities include:
Lead stakeholder engagement and requirements development: Conduct assessments of satellite communication concepts of operations across a mission's lifecycle and translate stakeholder needs into detailed system requirements and technical specifications. Drive system interoperability and interface management: Review Interface Control Documents (ICDs) and technical specifications to ensure successful integration between legacy and next-generation communication systems. Oversee integration and test campaign development: Support the planning, coordination, and execution of integration and test activities for government to commercial communication architectures, ensuring mission success criteria are met. Execute technical analysis and decision support: Conduct analysis of alternative studies using quantitative methods and present actionable recommendations to senior leadership and program management.
Develop verification and validation strategy:
Design comprehensive V&V strategies and success criteria that satisfy key stakeholder requirements and concepts of operations. Lead project lifecycle compliance and stakeholder communication: Prepare and deliver executive-level technical documentation and presentations for NASA review boards, ensuring alignment with agency standards and securing program approvals.
Qualifications Minimum Education :
Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Physics, Aerospace Engineering, or other similar fields. Years of experience : 10-15 years of experience in a relevant industry or projects.
Work Authorization :
Candidates must be a U.S. Citizen or Permanent Resident. Role/Work Schedule This is a full-time, on-site position in Cleveland, OH. Preferred Skills Extensive experience in satellite communication system design Detailed knowledge of ground station/network equipment and protocols in satellite communication (RF modulation techniques, error coding, and standards) Experience with NASA human space flight systems Familiarity with capabilities of NASA space communications networks (e.g. Space Relay (SR), Near Space Network (NSN), Direct to Earth (DTE), and Deep Space Network (DSN)) and/or commercial networks Experience with requirements development and the NASA project lifecycle Proficiency in verbal and written communication including articulating and presenting technical topics in a clear and concise manner to peers as well as executive level customer audiences
