Job Description

Aviation Technology Associates (AVTECH Global) is looking for an Aircraft Sustainment / Liaison Engineer.
Position Purpose:
Liaison (Sustainment) Engineer supporting line maintenance and heavy maintenance depot operations at US Air Force bases.
Principle Duties and Responsibilities:
Essential Functions:
Providing technical dispositions and guidance for aircraft issues that exceed published limits for structural damage including sheet metal and composite repairs. This often includes performing a structural analysis. Providing work deviation authorization, interpretation of service documents & Technical Orders. Providing options for repairing versus replacing a part to minimize financial impact. Providing aircraft system trouble shooting assistance. Attending regular production meetings to ensure timely support. Providing on-site engineering assistance for significantly damaged aircraft as required. Coordinating events/issues with USAF Program Office for additional action, troubleshooting and follow-up. Monitoring trends and recurring discrepancies requiring corrective action. Developing Typical Repairs and manual supplement to eliminate repetitive Engineering Technical Assistance Requests (ETARs). Authoring policies and processes to ensure general compliance with FAA regulations. As an ideal candidate to join the AVTECH team, you will meet the following:
Education and Experience Requirements:
BS Degree (or higher) in Aeronautical, Aerospace, Mechanical, or Structural Engineering Two plus (2+) years in specific technical discipline
Required Unique Skills:
Ability to perform structural analysis to substantiate repairs Strong written and verbal communication skills Strong investigative, analytical, and problem-solving skills Self-motivated, conscientious and ability to prioritize multiple tasks Knowledge of FARs, FAA policies, and vendor manual (AMM, IPC, CMM) Must be willing to work a flexible work schedule to meet internal customer's needs Aircraft/airline/MRO or aviation engineering experience desired Ability to pass a Tier 1(minimum) Investigation for work on Department of Defense contracts. Existing security clearance is preferred Location /
Travel:
This is a REMOTE position with no relocation requirement. Travel to USAF bases will be required once per month (minimum) for 3-4 days at a time. All travel costs are covered (including, flights, hotel, rental car, GSA per diem, etc.). Additionally, the travel locations/frequency are subject to change (with an advanced notice) depending on where coverage is needed. This is a salary position including paid time off and health insurance benefits.
