DESCRIPTION
The Aerospace Manufacturing Engineer for the Nadir integrated assembly line is responsible for ensuring end-to-end production readiness and providing comprehensive line-side support for integrated assembly operations. This role serves as a passionate advocate for customers while focusing on reducing non-conformances and improving cycle times through structured problem-solving methodologies and process optimization. The position requires a balance of independent work and collaborative teamwork with engineering peers, production supervisors, and cross-functional partners. Key job responsibilities Document manufacturing processes, procedures, and author detailed work instructions for integrated assembly operations Create and maintain production routings, operation definitions, and work instruction documents within the ERP system Use structured problem-solving methodologies to research root causes and implement corrective actions for defects and non-conformances Demonstrate competency with quality data analysis and statistical tools for process optimization Evaluate impact of manufacturing process and schedule changes on cycle time performance Collaborate with contract manufacturers and internal stakeholders on tooling and assembly aid design Work effectively with supplier production teams on schedule, design, qualification, and production launch activities Deliver high-quality artifacts including CAD designs, assembly instructions, process flow diagrams, and cycle time studies Escalate risks or problems in manufacturing schedules and plans appropriately Participate in continuous improvement initiatives aimed at reducing cycle times and enhancing operational efficiency
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial Engineering, or related STEM field Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing Broad knowledge of fundamental manufacturing engineering including cycle time analysis, process improvement methodology, structured problem solving, change and configuration management, equipment reliability planning, and quality control tools Basic understanding of design, fabrication, and commissioning of manufacturing tools and processes Familiarity with the technologies and standards used in the manufacturing industries Understanding of hardware manufacturing processes
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Experience implementing process improvements Experience using data to drive root cause elimination and process improvement Experience collaborating and influencing multiple teams across multiple organizations Experience with space flight hardware manufacturing Experience working with manufacturing suppliers to improve incoming quality Experience in lean manufacturing implementation Experience conceptualizing, designing, assembling, and debugging tools and fixtures Demonstrated ability to uncover systemic issues from large datasets Amazon is an equal opportunity employer and does not discriminate on the basis of protected veteran status, disability, or other legally protected status. Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.
