Engineer 2 or 3:
MUST HAVE EXPERIENCE IN FASTENERES, STRESS OR FATIGUE ENGINEERING, AND AEROSTRUCTURES WCI
seeking mechanical engineer to work in project acquisition, concepting, and initial design of new product for aerospace structural repairs. This person will work with OEMs to gather geometry requirements and fatigue objectives for new and existing airframes to maintain airworthiness and uphold industry safety. Applicant will be seeking new project opportunities within the industry at conferences and through networking within companies. Once requirements are gathered, applicant will design an initial prototype and run FEA to validate claims, meeting with the customer throughout the process to make any corrections. Desirable Skills Willingness to learn Social and communication persistence with a strong emphasis on customer service; prioritizes long term customer relation building Experience/knowledge of Finite Element software (direct Dassault Abaqus is a plus) Awareness of subtractive manufacturing constraints (lathe, mill, wire EDM) (can be taught) Thorough experience reading GD&T and technical drawings; able to parse technical documents for important info at all levels Understanding of metallic and composite material properties and their interactions with fatigue critical structures Understanding of surface treatments and their effects on material performance Awareness of structuring fatigue tests for product validation Attention to detail Willingness to learn (yes, it's that important) Responsibilities include: Identifying technical repairs and developing solutions with engineering and sales teams Networking at industry conferences and tradeshows Identifying deficiencies in mechanical processes and developing improvements Designing and developing prototypes Analyzing and testing prototypes and each revision of a device Supervising the development of computer-aided design (CAD) project drawings from junior team members Developing, initiating and managing all phases of projects Preparing documentation of critical analysis and providing suggestions for correcting errors Collaborating with Project Managers for proper allocation and tracking of resources Building , Mentoring, and Managing Engineering team with current Engineers Cover letter encouraged, please note experience in stress/fatigue analysis, any relevant sales experience, hobbies outside of work, and why you'd like to work for a small aerospace manufacturing company.
