DESCRIPTION
The Role The purpose of this position is to manage and support implementation of energy and sustainability initiatives for a CBRE Healthcare account based in Oregon. Role is hybrid, requiring at least2-3 days on-site at the client's location in Portland, Oregon. What You'll Do Develop energy management & sustainability strategy for clients' real estate portfolios, with a focus on compliance to Oregon State's Energy Performance Standard Policy. Leveraging and maximizing incentive funding through Energy Trust of Oregon.
Knowledge of healthcare environments and compliance requirements with best practices applied through initiatives accordingly.
Ability to design energy program and roadmap for client's carbon neutrality goals/commitments, including optimization, renewable energy opportunities, and REC purchasing strategies.
Implement programs to achieve savings goals and targets by specified timelines
Analyze energy and water consumption metrics to identify opportunities and create plans to sustain energy savings
Lead identification and prioritization of energy capital projects, operational changes and physical plant upgrades, resulting in reduced energy consumption(may include HVAC, lighting, building envelope, demand response and controls, plug loads, distributed generation, employee engagement, and evaluating new technologies and services)
Establish/ monitor utilities budgets and identify trends, discrepancies and insights to inform operational strategies
Provide forecasts of utility expenses throughout the portfolio
Develop and evaluate financial viability of projects for budgeting and approval including development of engineering energy savings calculation, return on investment and potentially marginal abatement cost curve modeling
Report clear and concise metrics on various energy and sustainability activities (cost savings, CO2, water, etc.), and achievements on prescribed intervals as requested by client
Communicate plans and progress to all levels of staff through presentations and meetings
Support water saving programs and recycling programs as requested
Support new business pursuits and business development through relationship building and building walkthroughs
Ability to perform energy analysis and energy efficiency calculations
Strong computer skills including proficiency in Excel, Word, Outlook and Power Point, online software platforms, with the ability to use spreadsheets and data analysis applications
Ability to multi-task and effectively prioritize and organize responsibilities. Strong project management and leadership skills
Advanced, in-depth knowledge of sustainability and energy principles and concepts, particularly related to the healthcare built environment.
Knowledge of HVAC, electrical, mechanical, building automation and control systems across a variety of building types
Other duties as assigned. What You'll Need BS in engineering (electrical, mechanical, industrial, civil) or equivalent work experience
Proven experience and knowledge around City of Portland and Oregon State Building Performance Standards, and experience working with Oregon Energy Trust for Incentive Finding. (Or similar State-run standards, i.e. Washington)
Strong proven experience with energy conservation, energy management, performance contracting or energy engineering.
Experience with building automation system/controls and commissioning/retro-commissioning processes and improvements ideal.
Proven record of excellent internal and external customer service
Professional Engineer (PE) and/or Certified Energy Manager (CEM) highly desired
Sustainability Accreditation (e.g., LEED, or WELL AP) preferred
Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Strong organizational and analytical skills.
Ability to provide efficient, timely, reliable, and courteous service to customers.
Ability to effectively present information at various levels tactical personnel to strategic leadership.
Ability to respond effectively to sensitive issues
Requires in-depth knowledge of financial terms and principles. Ability to calculate intermediate figures such as percentages, discounts, and commissions. Conducts advanced financial analysis
Ability to comprehend, analyze, and interpret complex documents. Ability to solve problems involving several options in situations. Requires advanced analytical and quantitative skills
Carbon footprint reporting experience or training preferred. Training and accreditation part of development and performance management requirements
Experience with Microsoft suite, Smartsheet, Tableau Prep Conductor or Power Query, Tableau Desktop or Microsoft Power BI, and SharePoint is a plus. Equal Employment Opportunity:
