Primary Purpose:
Responsible for planning and organizing district resources to develop, support, manage, and achieve the District's goals related to energy management and sustainability. Minimum Qualifications (Experience/Education/Certification): Bachelor's degree from an accredited four-year college or university with major course work in energy management or a related field. Eight years or more of relevant field and supervisory experience may be considered in lieu of a four-year college or university degree. A valid Texas driver's license and able to qualify as a driver under the district's insurance carrier when driving a district vehicle.
Major Responsibilities:
1. Identify, implement, and direct all aspects of the district's energy management and sustainability program as it relates to utility management, resource conservation, renewable energy, waste and recycling, building improvements, remodeling, and new construction. 2. Pursue an aggressive program to reduce district consumption and waste; perform cost and benefit analyses and recommend projects and upgrades. 3. Develop expense and capital budgets for utilities, waste, energy, and sustainability projects. 4. Provide project management and oversight to energy and sustainability projects. 5. Pursue outside funding and rebate sources for projects. 6. Compile, analyze, and interpret utility data, billing and other related documents. 7. Study and analyze utilization of utilities and conducts energy and water audits at each district facility. 8. Communicate on a regular basis with campuses and departments regarding energy consumption and conservation 9. Review and negotiate energy purchase agreements; create RFP's/RFQ's, review bids, contracts, payments, or other financial documents. 10. Provide appropriate internal and external reporting regarding energy management and sustainability information, programs and initiatives. 11. Research new and emerging technologies and keep current on industry trends, related regulatory issues, and best practices attending seminars and training whenever possible. 12. Implement the policies established by federal and state law, State Board of Education rules, and local board policy in the area of energy conservation and sustainability. 13. Follow Educator Code of Conduct and all policies, procedures, laws and State/Federal regulations. 14. Perform other duties as assigned.

Supervisory Responsibilities:
Supervises Specialist, Support Services (Energy Management) Working Conditions (Mental Demands/Physical Demands/Environmental Demands): Frequent district-wide travel; occasional prolonged and irregular hours; work indoors and outdoors to conduct on-site inspections; must be able to push, pull, lift, and/or carry at least 40 lbs.
