Job Title:
Integration Lab Engineer Job Description This role involves providing direct and onsite technical support, leading service escalations, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to achieve successful resolutions. Responsibilities include maintaining the internal instrument base, installing new prototypes, and external clinical systems. The position requires involvement in developing new product designs, design improvements on medical device instrumentation, and writing and executing system integration test protocols. Additionally, you will develop new instrument procedures and analyze performance data. You will act as a Subject Matter Expert on technical aspects of instrumentation platforms and provide leadership and guidance to junior team members. Responsibilities Identify, confirm, and interpret interacting causes and effects behind instrument issues, discrepancies, problems, or complaints, following governing procedures. Perform advanced troubleshooting across multiple system functions, including hardware and software or hardware and assay performance problems. Provide efficient direct service support and respond to service tickets for break/fix, system upgrades, and preventative maintenance. Perform installation, integration, and performance monitoring of external clinical sites. Lead internal investigations into technical complaints and lab instrument issues. Devise root cause hypotheses and confirm instrument issues, discrepancies, problems, or complaints according to governing procedures. Lead and support technical documentation. Essential Skills Expertise in integration, electromechanics, design, and biomedical engineering. Experience with lab equipment and medical device equipment. Strong troubleshooting skills. Additional Skills & Qualifications Bachelor's degree in engineering or life sciences required. Minimum 2 years of experience in a biosciences or engineering capacity. Experience in a clinical laboratory servicing diagnostic medical equipment preferred. Knowledge of electro-mechanical, optical, and fluidic systems preferred. Experience planning and executing hardware/software integration activities preferred. Work Environment This position requires onsite presence 5 days a week, with working hours from 7 AM to 4 PM or 8 AM to 5 PM. The role offers 2 weeks of paid time off and 6 paid holidays. Job Type & Location This is a Contract position based out of Santa Clara, CA. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $35.00 - $38.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
