Videos Duties Help The duties of the Supervisory Biomedical Engineer includes but is not limited to: Responsible for the full administrive, managerial and supervisory duties of the Medical Center's Healthcare Technology Management Department. Responsible for assuring the continuous operion of essential pient services and rapid response to conditions th may interfere with such services. Responsible for the development and implemention of the Medical Center's Medical Equipment Management Plan. Responsible for the overall programmic implemention of the Medical Device Protection Program (MDPP) within the purview of nionally manded directives for informion security as designed by the Office of Healthcare Technology Management (10NA9) and the OI&T Health Informion Security Division (HISD). Inities, modifies, and sets policy, procedures, standards and goals. Responsible for financial management of budget resources to support quality assurance and maintenance activities. Conducts capital asset and infrastructure planning for medical equipment spanning initial concept, installion, and effective implemention of complex medical systems. Analyzes organizional and operional problems and develops timely and economical solutions to meet facility, VISN and/or Nional needs. Conducts a medical equipment management program th meets current Joint Commission, NFPA and other pertinent regulory requirements. Assure th facility medical equipment inventory is available for pient care activities. Manages a recall and safety alert program for medical devices, including medical device incident investigions to assure compliance with pient safety goals, SMDA and Joint Commission requirements. Responsible for the full range of personnel actions and organizion design proposals recommended by the subordine supervisors. Sets and adjusts short-term priorities, and prepares schedules for completion of work. Serves as an advisor to senior clinical and leadership staff on medical technology, including existing and emerging technology, addressing viability, long-term suitability, compibility, and/or safety. Serves as an institutional expert who directly supports the most complex and specialized clinical technology including service, system administrion, training and quality assurance for multiple sites. Exercises significant responsibility in dealing with officials of other units or organizions, or in advising management officials of higher rank including physicians and clinical staff reling to technical mters.Work Schedule :

Examples of acceptable engineering degrees include: Biomedical Engineering, Clinical Engineering, Bioengineering, Biomechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, and Biochemical Engineering. Titles may vary from educional institutions and change over time. OR (b) Certificion as a Certified Clinical Engineer (CCE) and a bachelor's degree not listed in item 2(a) above. 3. English Language Proficiency. Candides must be proficient in spoken and written English to be appointed as authorized by 38 U.S.C. § 7403(f). 4. Grandfhering Provision.
