The Opportunity Structural Heart Business Mission:
Why We Exist Our business purpose is to restore health and improve quality of life by designing and providing device and management solutions for treating structural heart disease. In this role, you will perform entry-level technical activities to create new or modify existing products, processes, prototypes, fixtures, and/or tools in support of the company's strategic plan. You will work with team to apply clinical engineering and scientific principles to evaluate and resolve technical problems with supervision from technical lead and/or manager. This role supports continuous improvement. What You'll Work On Uses foundations of engineering to apply appropriate experimental, statistical, investigation and engineering tools to develop/modify design to meet business goals. Multidisciplinary engineering knowledge to contribute to a team designing and developing innovative medical devices or components/subsystems in support of company's strategic plan. Utilizes training and experience to design and develop technical drawings and documents. Involved in executions of test methods and simulation models development to mitigate design risks and ensure new design reliability as directed. Remains abreast of technical advancements and continually develops skills. Involved in creating/updating specifications, test methods and models, protocols and reports. Participates in prototyping product, tools, and fixtures required for research and/or development purposes. Supports team to work with internal departments and external vendors to obtain prototype parts and to understand their capabilities and limitations. Coordinates with internal departments and vendors to receive prototypes for new / modified designs, performs engineering analysis and testing to ensure the design meets established requirements. Use empirical and experimental analysis to evaluate designs and identify potential issues with design. Gains knowledge of risk mitigation to anticipate risk and takes appropriate action. Participates in technical design reviews. Writes, reviews and assesses impact of engineering changes. Completes engineering tasks per established timelines. Independently manage time and completion of assigned tasks. Supports improvement of products, processes, and/or design tools to be employed for investigation and design development. Understands and communicates new and existing engineering designs. Interprets drawings and specifications and communicate to suppliers, stakeholders, and customers. Prepares and presents clear presentations with engineering arguments supporting design within the team and peers. Gains understanding of the quality and regulatory requirements for medical devices. Gains understanding of the developing clinical environment (i.e. - current treatment methods, evolving needs). Provide Clinical field based case support as needed for clinical trial execution. Provide support for clinical devices used for training internal staff and physicians Required Qualifications Bachelors Degree in Biological Sciences, Engineering or related field. Understanding of basic and advanced engineering concepts. Ability to apply technical and practical knowledge of engineering principles. Experience using business collaboration tools. Effective time management and prioritization skills. Demonstrated experience working in a team environment.
