Compensation Range:
$55,955.00 - $78,336.00 The referenced pay range represents the minimum and maximum compensation for this job. Individual annual salaries/hourly rates will be set within the job's compensation range, and will be determined by considering factors including, but not limited to, market data, education, experience, qualifications, expertise of the individual, and internal equity considerations.Responsibilities:
Maintains responsibility for biomedical engineering design in support of projects. Provides full range of professional biomedical engineering services in all phases of research, design, and construction.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Manages and coordinates in-house biomedical design projects, including responsibility for engineering and constructing simulation models using various techniques, including 3-D design modeling, 3-D printing, and polymer molding techniques. Establishes protocol for all laboratory work and may assign and supervise selected tasks to subordinate staff. Develops and designs physical and/or digital simulation models using 3-D computer-aided design (CAD) software, including the creation of anatomical models (kidney, liver, brain, etc.) and/or other surgical skills simulators. Designs prototypes new models. Reviews literature for advances in the biomedical field, and conducts focus groups with clients. Designs and implements research protocols and adjusts current protocols as needed. Ensures the integrity and security of all study data at all times. Follows laboratory regulations and ensures compliance with institution policies and/or requirements. Drafts research papers and grant proposals, including analysis of data. Provides professional advice and judgement in testing of polyvinyl alcohol (PVA) formulations and additives to meet client needs. Troubleshoots and maintains CAD software and 3-D printers in cases of simple malfunctions. Escalates higher level malfunctions to the supervisor or other individuals as needed. Develops high-level designs for new projects and interfaces with clients to determine needs and design specifications. Other duties as assigned.MINIMUM EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
Bachelor's degree and 2 years of relevant experience required Master's degree preferred Or equivalent combination of education and experienceKNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
