This position converts conceptual designs and engineering specifications into precise 2D and 3D drawings used for fabrication, assembly, and documentation. The draftsman ensures all drawings adhere to company standards and project requirements. Key Responsibilities Develop accurate 2D and 3D CAD models and detailed fabrication drawings for environmental test chambers and ancillary equipment. Collaborate with mechanical, electrical, and control engineers to turn concepts into manufacturable drawings. Produce complete drawing packages, including assembly, subassembly, infrastructure, piping, fabrication, and installation drawings. Maintain and update drawings with standard nomenclature Ensure drawings meet customer requirements Participate in design reviews to identify potential issues related to being able to manufacture the item, material selection, and cost mitigation. Work closely with production teams to resolve design or dimensional conflicts. Education and Experience Associates degree or technical certificate in drafting, mechanical design, or engineering. 2 years of experience in a manufacturing or industrial design environment. Experience with environmental chambers/HVAC systems, laboratory equipment, or pressure/temperature sensors. Technical Skills Proficiency in Auto CAD, Solid Works, or other CAD software. Familiarity with sheet metal design and fabrication drawing standards. Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and schematics. Other Requirements Strong attention to detail Effective communication and collaborative skills Ability to manage multiple concurrent projects under tight deadlines.
Pay:
$22.00 - $35.00 per hour
