This position will be handling both our standard and custom product lines, including illuminated stair railings ("Lightrail"). The ideal candidate will be experienced with CAD, Microsoft Excel and Word, have experience with lighting and sheet metal manufacturing and enjoy working with others. This is a collaborative environment where our CAD Designers work directly with production and sales to find solutions for our customers. Many of our projects are with high-profile firms, designers and projects and we take pride in our quality and craftsmanship. Responsibilities and Duties Ensure the accuracy of technical specifications within drawings Creation of submittal drawings, part drawings, production drawings, etc. as assigned by Engineering Manager Creating of Bills of Material/Material Request Forms (MRFs) as required Occasional communication with vendors Perform tasks as assigned by management Consult/assist in the design, manufacturing and assembly of jobs as required Proactive communication to management of all necessary information to ensure the accuracy and efficiency of product development and execution, including but not limited to: drawings, job related information, assembly/fabrication procedures, material requirements, finishing, processes Qualifications and Skills 5+ years' experience working in design engineering Knowledge of CAD drawings and symbols Fluent in Excel and Word Familiar with metal manufacturing components including extrusions, castings, sheet metal and fasteners Ability to manage time and tasks efficiently
