You'll collaborate with project managers, estimators, engineers, field leaders, and our fabrication team to deliver buildable, coordinated drawings on schedule. What you'll do Produce 2D AutoCAD shop/assembly drawings and details for curtain wall, storefront, entrances, windows, and related glazing systems , aligned to HAP standards and project specs. Prepare fabrication drawings , material takeoffs (cut lists, hardware schedules), and submittal packages ; update per review comments and RFIs. Interpret architectural/structural documents , specs, and addenda; flag conflicts and propose solutions. Coordinate proactively with PMs/field to ensure constructability , proper anchorage, and sequencing. Maintain revision control and drawing logs; ensure timely delivery to support procurement/fabrication. Support as‑built updates and closeout documentation. (Nice to have) Create CNC-ready outputs for saws, punches, or routers where applicable. Must‑haves Proficiency in AutoCAD (2D) and reading construction documents. 1-3+ years of drafting experience in construction, metal fabrication, or façade systems (glass & glazing strongly preferred). Strong detailing skills (fasteners, anchors, sealants, glazing gaskets), attention to tolerance/fit , and 3D spatial reasoning (visualizing from 2D). Clear communication and collaboration with PMs, shop, vendors, and field crews; ability to manage multiple projects with deadlines. Nice‑to‑haves Experience with curtain wall/storefront systems (e.g., Kawneer/Oldcastle families) and composite metal panels/rainscreens. Familiarity with CNC post‑processing / optimization workflows for fabrication. Exposure to BIM/Revit , Bluebeam, or Smartsheets. Knowledge of relevant standards and best practices in commercial glazing . A.S. in Drafting/Design Technology or related certificate; equivalent experience accepted.
