Job Description
CAD Technician / Draftsman New Panel Kits, LLC - Englewood, FL Full-Time | In-House Preferred About Us New Panel Kits is a Florida-based Structural Insulated Panel (SIP) manufacturer specializing in energy-efficient custom homes, coastal construction, and panelized building systems. We design and manufacture permit-ready SIP home packages for residential projects throughout Florida and beyond. We are looking for a motivated and detail-oriented CAD Technician / Draftsman to join our growing team and assist with residential construction drawings, SIP panel layouts, and permit-ready plan sets. Position Overview This position will support the design and drafting department by producing and modifying residential construction drawings and SIP panel layouts. The ideal candidate should be comfortable working with architectural and structural plans and capable of producing accurate, organized drawing packages suitable for manufacturing and permitting. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with residential drafting experience who wants to grow within the SIP and panelized construction industry. Responsibilities
- Draft residential floor plans, elevations, sections, and details
- Assist in developing permit-ready construction drawing sets
- Create SIP wall, floor, and roof panel layouts
- Modify existing house plans to meet customer and engineering requirements
- Coordinate drawings with engineering, manufacturing, and sales teams
- Prepare framing plans, panel schedules, and construction details
- Revise drawings based on internal review and customer feedback
- Maintain organized project files and drawing revisions
- Assist with material takeoffs and production documentation
- Ensure drawings comply with Florida residential building standards and company drafting standards Preferred Skills & Qualifications
- Experience with AutoCAD required
- Experience with residential construction drafting preferred
- Understanding of framing, structural plans, and construction documents
- Ability to read architectural and engineering plans
- Familiarity with SIP construction or panelized building systems is a plus
- Understanding of Florida residential construction and permitting is a plus
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Ability to work independently while collaborating with a team
- Experience with Revit, SketchUp, or other 3D modeling software is a bonus Experience Level We are open to candidates ranging from junior to intermediate level, provided they have:
- Strong CAD drafting fundamentals
- Good understanding of residential construction documents
- Willingness to learn SIP systems and panelized construction methods This role does not require a licensed architect or engineer, but candidates must be capable of producing accurate and professional drafting work. What We Offer
