Part time full-time opportunity depending on workload and experience About OBC Built / OBC Engineering OBC Built and OBC Engineering are growing construction, development, and engineering companies focused on residential, commercial, modular, and multifamily projects. We are building a strong team to support design, construction planning, permitting, project coordination, and field execution. We are looking for a Building Construction Designer / CAD Designer with experience preparing and modifying construction drawings, especially related to Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing systems. Position Overview The Building Construction Designer will assist with CAD drawings, construction layouts, redlines, plan updates, MEP coordination, permit support, and project documentation. This person must be comfortable reading construction plans and turning design direction into clean, organized drawings. The right candidate should have experience with building design, MEP layouts, construction documents, and coordination between design, engineering, and construction teams. Responsibilities Create, update, and revise CAD drawings for construction projects Assist with Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing layout drawings Prepare and organize construction plan sets Review and incorporate redlines from engineers, project managers, and field teams Assist with permit drawing updates and documentation Coordinate drawings with architectural, structural, civil, and MEP information Help identify design conflicts and missing information Maintain clean file organization and drawing standards Assist with as-built drawings, field sketches, and project revisions Communicate clearly with the OBC team and outside consultants Required Experience CAD design experience in building construction Experience with Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing drawings Ability to read and understand construction plans Strong attention to detail Ability to work independently and meet deadlines Organized and professional communication Experience with residential, commercial, multifamily, or modular construction preferred Software Experience AutoCAD experience required SketchUp, Chief Architect, or similar design software is a plus Google Drive, Microsoft Office, or similar file/document tools preferred Ideal Candidate We are looking for someone who is detail-oriented, dependable, and understands how construction drawings are used in the real world. This person does not need to be a licensed engineer or architect, but must have strong CAD skills and real construction design experience.
