Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly organized Designer Assistant to support our senior design team with AutoCAD drafting, client meeting participation, and design related administrative tasks. This role is ideal for someone who is detail-oriented, proactive, and comfortable handling schedules, notes, design documentation, and estimates in a fast-paced environment. Key Responsibilities:
Produce and revise drawings using AutoCAD (layouts, elevations, sections, details) Assist with preparation and updates of shop drawings and design packages Maintain accurate drawing revisions and organized project documentation Support designers with meetings, drawings, proposals and coordination throughout project phases Manage senior designers' schedule, calendar coordination, and task follow-ups Attend internal and external meetings and take clear, detailed meeting notes Track action items and ensure timely follow-through with the design team Help organize project files, drawing logs, approvals, and communication records Communicate with project managers, vendors, and internal teams as needed Assist with pricing and preparing project estimates based on drawings and specifications Help gather information needed for quoting (materials, scope, quantities, revisions) Maintain estimate documentation and support updates as projects change Coordinate internally to ensure pricing aligns with scope and project requirements Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
Intermediate to proficient AutoCAD knowledge (required) Excellent organizational skills (required) Bilingual (English/Spanish) - required Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities Ability to participate in meetings professionally and communicate clearly Reliable, proactive, and able to work on-site in a team environment Ability to commute Position works on-site ; Monday - Friday Physical Requirements:
Ability to sit for extended periods while working at a computer or drafting station. Frequent use of hands and fingers to operate computers, drafting tools, and office equipment. Occasional standing, walking, bending, or reaching during client consultations and site visits. Ability to lift and carry samples, catalogs, and presentation materials weighing up to 20 pounds. Visual acuity to read detailed drawings, plans, and color samples accurately. Capability to travel locally and occasionally by air as needed for client meetings, site inspections, or training.
