Job Description

We are assisting our client with the search for a CAD technician. This is a family-owned manufacturer in the custom conveyor industry seeking a CAD Technician to support daily drafting work for repair projects and custom conveyor systems. This is a long-term, stable opportunity focused on production-ready drafting, not conceptual design. This role is being hired as a planned succession position, with the opportunity to train alongside a senior CAD Technician for an extended transition period. Schedule & Work Environment Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM-5:00 PM Fully on-site role Flexible, low-pressure office environment Family-owned company with strong work-life balance Job Duties Create general arrangement, detail, and assembly drawings Create parts and nest them for fabrication. Follow established drafting standards in the creation of layout drawings. Standards include drawing layout, scaling, layering, specifications, tolerances, dimensions and materials. Create drawings for custom and special products as needed. Prepare fabrication-ready drawings with a strong emphasis on accuracy Apply drafting standards related to: Layout, scaling, specifications, layering, dimensions, tolerances, and materials Work primarily with an internal sales team (approximately 80% of collaboration) Communicate as needed with customers or external engineering firms via phone and email Collaborate with a small team while owning your individual work How the Role Operates Daily work is independent, with peer collaboration for review and brainstorming Accuracy is critical and drawings must be production-ready with minimal errors Stress is generally low outside of quality expectations Ideal for someone who enjoys responsibility, stability, and technical mastery Required Qualifications Associate's degree in Computer-Aided Drafting (CAD) Strong working knowledge of AutoCAD Ability to read and interpret blueprints Solid mechanical aptitude Comfortable communicating via phone and email Self-sufficient, detail-oriented, and organized Preferred Qualifications Experience in manufacturing, fabrication, or industrial equipment environments Familiarity with materials, weld processes, and tolerances Exposure to nesting software (Striker or similar) Working knowledge of AutoCAD and Microsoft Office Software (Excel, Word).
