AutoCAD Drafter (Shop Drawings Production Role)

About the Role Excalibur Metal Design is a custom architectural metal fabrication company building staircases, railings, gates, and structural metal projects. We are hiring an AutoCAD 2D Drafter to take ownership of producing accurate, build-ready shop drawings. This is a production role . We are looking for someone who can produce drawings independently from day one — not an entry-level or training position. What You'll Do Produce 2D AutoCAD shop drawings for fabrication Interpret architectural plans and field measurements Create clear, dimensioned drawings that go directly into the shop Revise drawings quickly based on feedback and field changes Work closely with fabrication and installation teams Most work is AutoCAD 2D . This is not a design or engineering position. Requirements (Must-Have) Proven experience using AutoCAD 2D in a real-world setting Ability to produce shop drawings used in construction or fabrication Strong understanding of dimensions, tolerances, and buildability Ability to work independently with minimal oversight Able to read and interpret architectural and construction drawings Preferred Experience Architectural metal, structural steel, millwork, or similar shop drawing experience Familiarity with fabrication processes or construction methods Experience working directly with a shop or field team This role is intended to immediately take over active production drafting workload.
